Downers Grove Music Club (DGMC) is a nonprofit musical arts organization founded in 1927 in Downers Grove, Illinois. We believe the arts support vibrant communities, and we aspire to connect people to the musical arts and local artists through public concerts and education programs. DGMC also makes investments that strengthen musical arts development in our schools and community.
Each year DGMC offers free public concerts; sponsors a piano festival for local students; and recognizes talented high school students with music awards to help them further their studies.
DGMC also publishes a Directory of Music Teachers and a List of Accompanists, which is distributed to all area schools, libraries and music stores.
Our members include performing musicians (professional and amateur), music teachers, music students and non-performing music lovers. Members receive newsletters, special announcements, and a members directory. Membership is also open to ensembles and organizations, which benefit from increased visibility in the community through our members, events and website.

Internationally acclaimed pianist and scholar Svetlana Belsky opens our season with a solo recital featuring Bach’s French Suites. Praised for her expressive artistry and stylistic range, Dr. Belsky has earned global recognition through her celebrated recordings Into Darkness (2021) and Ferruccio Busoni: The Late Works (2019), both highlighted by Spotify and lauded by major review outlets.
Born in Ukraine and trained in the United States, Dr. Belsky holds degrees from the Peabody Conservatory and the Manhattan School of Music, and spent fifteen years as Director of Piano Studies at the University of Chicago. A sought‑after performer, lecturer, and master teacher, she brings her exceptional musicianship to launch our 2026–2027 Concert Series.
Few experiences match the magic of live music in the intimate setting of a private home. This fall, our Benefit House Concert offers just that — an enchanting evening of music in support of DGMC’s mission. The event is the first of two annual fundraisers that make possible the Rising Star and College Music Awards, which celebrate and support the talent of outstanding local high school musicians. After the concert, enjoy our wine/dessert reception.
Tickets are $35 per person and are required to reserve your seat. If you are unable to attend, the reservation form permits donating to the student award fund. Seating is limited; reserve now! RESERVE
